Is there a way to assign the ISO to one of the custom buttons on the front of the camera. I have looked and there are other options but not ISO. Just thinking when shooting in portrait orientation using the grip it would be nice to have this?
Cheers

I was thinking about this but I have noticed that Auto ISO sometimes gives you a higher ISO setting when the next lower ISO will also work without affecting the speed and aperture? So can I trust Auto ISO?

I haven't found this to be an issue personally but if you do then you can always use exposure compensation assuming that your Firmware is up to date. I have mine set to the SET button to arm/initiate exposure compensation and then adjust it via the main dial (next to the shutter release). I find this very intuitive and quick to use, for example at an air display last September I could use 3 or 4 different EV compensation values in a single fly past. apersson850 Cream of the Crop More info | Feb 09, 2015 09:02 | #9 I don't know how fine steps they use today. Last time I saw a definite specification for this was all way back to the T90. The T90 set exposure in 16 steps inside one full stop. But it showed only half stops to the user. Anders

I shoot mainly wildlife and a bit of landscape. About a week after I bought my 1DX I put it into Manual mode with Auto ISO and have yet to find a need to alter these settings - still it's only been a little over 2 years. Note I am not certain if these settings would work if you were bracketing. Yeah, auto ISO works great. I use it pretty much no matter what I'm shooting.
