Does anyone have a resource to "correct amputation"?

The only rule I follow is "Does it look good?" Yes... woohoo. No... I try another crop.

Not sure about that, because it says not to cut off from below the elbow, and if the person has their arms down to the waist, where it is acceptable, yeah, we could always get them to fold their arms, but not always applicable

On a 3/4 shot crop just above the knee, that works for me

I've always heard that crops shouldn't be done at the joints, but half-way between (mid-shin, mid-thigh, half way between shoulder and elbow, and so on.) No doubt there are exceptions, as to all other rules.
