Is the Powershot S100 a big improvement over the Powershot Elph 110HS?

I bought a used Powershot Elph 110HS about a year or two ago and have never been that satisfied with its still image quality. I use it for video occasionally but other than that it gathers dust.

I have been considering replacing it with a used S100 for the following reasons:
1) prefer to have more manual control
2) prefer to shoot RAW
3) better image quality

My concern is that the S100 image quality may not be that much better than the Elph 110HS, but with manual control and RAW it might be good enough. I'm not looking for anything bigger but would consider similarly sized compacts.

Thoughts?

I have the s95 and I my brother and his wife have the 110HS (couple friends have the S100). The S95/S100 is a better camera for all the reasons you listed.

The S100 has a 1/1.7" sensor; the Elph 110 has a 1/2.3" sensor so the S100 has a sensor that's 50% larger. That will make a big difference in image quality.

Thanks for the replies. All of the used (and still working) S100's I could find were around $120, so I picked up a new S110 from Adorama for $179. I haven't used it much but I'm happy with it so far. I really like having manual controls and RAW in such a small camera. It's only slightly larger than the Elph 110HS I have but can do so much more.
