Hey Jeff!
Yes, they certainly are two very different images.

The first one has a very different look to it. I was curious about the image, and wanted to see your settings......primarily sensor size, aperture, and focal length - you know, the things that affect depth of field. But, when I went to Flickr to check out the EXIF, it wasn't available. Usually Flickr has an extremely detailed bunch of EXIF for images hosted there. So, because this was unavailable via Flickr, could you give us all the details? Thanks!

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Ok, here's another pair of images, both of Wild Turkeys fighting. But one is in early April, the other in mid-May. Around here, there is a huge difference, as early April is cold, wet, and everything is still dead. Mid-May is warm, dry, and everything has greened up. Come to think of it, I kind of wish it was mid-May right now!

Jeff always hides his EXIF! Whats up with that Jeff?

This is an amazing thread Tom. What a great idea!

IT just so happens that something we have been discussing happened to me this morning, The wolves have taken a deer down two nights ago, you can see what remains in a short time frame.
And thats the rest of the story.
