I'm hoping the link for the T5i/700D kit will settle it. As we all know, that came with the stabilised stm lens. The Canon USA site for the T5i does NOT list image stabilisation in the icons at the bottom. I think that why they don't mention it is because the Rebels from the T3i onwards had image stabilised kit lenses. It's a puzzle. Is the manual available for download yet?

http://www.usa.canon.com …i_18_55mm_is_stm_lens_kit (external link) is the link, and though it has a stabilised lens, there's no mention of it in the icons below. I stand by my original statement about IS in body.

The IMAGE STABILIZER icon you see on the T6 product page is the Canon logo for their in-lens image stabilizer. It is core to their DSLR product line. In-body would be a stray from their principle technology of IS lenses. See the "IMAGE STABILIZER" link on the right side of the pages below. It will link you to the IMAGE STABILIZER info pages.

Or this page..."Image Stabilization: It Belongs in the Lens" It presents Canon's position on why in-lens out performs in-body stabilization.
