FS (CONUS): Canon 1D Mark 3 Body with Kirk Bracket Under 40K Actuations

This is a tough one, because I love this camera. However, changing priorities and the addition of some new gear mean it's time to let it go.

I purchased the camera from another POTN member several years ago. I believe I am the third owner. Functionally, it is in excellent condition. It's just back from Canon in Costa Mesa (on Jan. 28), where it received a cleaning and a minor repair. I never experienced a single problem, but CPS said it needed a repair to the "flange back", and so I had them do it. They also cleaned the sensor and verified the shutter count 38,200. I've taken maybe 100 shots since then, and focus is dead on. Paperwork from CPS will be included in this sale.

Please see the photos to see the camera's various cosmetic scuffs and scrapes. They were there when I bought it; this has always been a second or third body for me, hence the low shutter count. Sale includes 1 Canon factory LP-E4 battery (still recharging at 3 bars), the charger, AC adapter, various cables, strap, and box (non-original to this body--that's how I bought it here on POTN). I am also posting a couple of sample images from the camera, including both pre and post repair.

The serial number in the photo was obscured deliberately to protect the privacy of the buyer. It's fine in real life..

The sale also includes the pictured Kirk "BL-Mark III" L bracket, which has seen very little use, and is in perfect condition.

Reviving my old sale thread here, as I never did close a deal on the camera. All of the info above is still good, with the exception of the fact that I've probably put another 500 shots on the camera over the past year. I also dropped the price $100 to $525 including shipping and Paypal. This is my third body and I rarely use it these days. Thanks for looking; please PM with questions.

This is a great deal for a great, great camera. For those that don't know, this is not just an action camera.
Those big fat pixels married to that Digic III processor makes for some of the most wonderful portraiture of any camera I've ever used. The colors from it are beautiful - especially skintones. I'm on my third 1D3 and I keep going back to it and despite the low-ish resolution, I can't get myself to sell it again for what they are going for now. If you don't need the resolution everyone thinks they need these days, this is a great all-around camera. Erik failed to mention that his serial number falls out of the infamous focusing issues range and I've never had an issue in any of the 3 bodies I've owned. The bracket alone sold for almost $200 new...
