It could be my monitor, but both images look dull; and the colour balance is quite different - bluish in the first image, and grey in the second - neither of them 'correct', to my eyes.

Are these auto exposures? Most cameras will underexpose a snowy scene, leaidng to grey snow - try brightening both images and adjusting colour to see what difference that makes.

Cheers, Damien

I'm on a calibrated monitor and I do see 2 different WB settings. One is more bluish and the bottom one is more yellowish. If your software allows forWB adjustments, use it. You may also recover some of the mid-tones. Otherwise the composition is quite nice :)

I'm agreeing with dodgey on this one. It's almost like I need to turn on the brightness on my monitor or something. Potential is here though.

Thank you much.
Sorry, I didn't explain....I worked them in different ways (the first to obtain a cool tone, the second for a warm tone, imagining a traditional print). But I think you are right.... I conserved too much saturation in both of them. And about the exposition....also here I agree, the calculation with snow in the image is faulty (I shoot also with plan films, and also there it's a pain with the snow....). I didn't use here selective correction of exposure on Raw, only I turned up the mid and high tones to the level where the snow begin to lose detail.....but if the effect is not convincing, I think you are right and the work could be done very better.
Again thank you,
Sandro

Thank you for attention and criticism.
Yes, I worked with DxO to obtain different monochrome tuning. Probably I hold exaggered satutation, and also the "cleaning" the white
was not sufficient.
All the best,
Sandro
