I just had this change on me recently and don't know what I did to change it... Whenever I am in Text mode in Photoshop the cursor is always on the left side of the text. Not a big deal for me but whenever I need to edit text it's almost impossible to get the cursor in the right place. Also, punctuation seems to end up on the left side of the text so my text would look something like this:

|.Text

Instead of

Text.|

Is there a simple way to fix this? It's sort of aggravating at times.

Try resetting your preference file: close Photoshop if open, then launch Photoshop again and immediately press shift/Control/Alt . You'll get a little box that says 'delete Adobe preferences file' or something like that, click yes.

(On a Mac it's Shift/Command/Option).

Hope this helps.

Nope. Nothing happens when I press Shift/Control/Alt.

You haven't got it set up to be Right Justified have you? That does have some odd effects at times.

I don't know how that happened but apparently I had the text engine set to Middle Eastern instead of East Asian. It's fixed now. Thanks Damien!
