Great shot! What setting do you use on the 7D for BIF? Struggle a bit with AI Servo to stick to the birdie!
9 focus-points, slow/quick servo etc.?

dont know what BIF is but I use
the smallest possible focus point, smallest spot..
on servo AF always and no focus at all on pointy finger (only thumb)

Nice work with the smallest focuspoint, you need a steady hand for that technique - really sharp photos of the Short-eared!
