....is the Cooper's Hawk most likely responsible for the little piles of feathers I find so frequently in my backyard.

Quite the stealthy hunter and a common visitor to by backyard. I hope you've enjoyed your journey through the branches and I appreciate your time in stopping by with views, comments, and critiques.

You know it Craig! I find at least a couple of dove feather piles a week. I appreciate the kind words too.

You're not feeding him enough Steve, he looks scrawny! Good catch though, although the little birds don't always agree, I love seeing a raptor (usually here it's a Sharpie) staking out my yard.

Very nice shots Steve. We have Broad-Winged Hawks around our property and more often than not, the numerous piles of feathers are gray. I am believe most are (were) Doves. Raptors have to eat too, I guess!!

Haha Ian, I guess the Siskin diet has him slim and trim :-)
Just this morning I saw him fly through a flock of fleeing Siskins and nab one without changing wingbeats. I thought he missed but my binocs proved otherwise.
Always appreciate your comments and humor my friend.

I appreciate the compliment Mark. I know we have Broad-winged around here, but I've never seen them.
