.

Let me first say that I think this is a really great topic, and I am quite glad that you introduced it. I really hope that this generates a lot of discussion, as I would be quite interested in what others have to say about the motivations for their photographic efforts.

If you don't see a choice that describes you, just let us know.

Ok, the most obvious choice would be the one that describes me.......yet, it is not here!

That choice would be:

I consider my wildlife/bird photography to put an equal emphasis on producing artful images and on documenting physical characteristics and behavior of my wild subjects.

I don't put more emphasis on the art, nor do I put more emphasis on the science. They are equal to me. And what I really love to do is to combine both in one image! Opportunities to do so are rare, but it sure is special when it happens!

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I don't like to "wake up" a thread after several months, but there have been a couple threads that have led to some conflict about this stuff, and this thread seems to start off in a reasonable way!

By the way, I feel a lot like Tom does!

I'm right there with Tom.
I like to capture the details of whatever creature I am photographing. Making it pleasing to the eye (art) is important but capturing behaviors and details is equally important.
