Hi Guys

Got my A7R aroung christmas holidays used off the bay. Now i got it really cheap so i thought there may be something wrong and i guess its the battery. I have since bought a backup battery as i always do for my cameras, and have not the same problems with it.
Also i feel with this battery the camera occassionally shuts down and doesnt react to any operations like on/off button shutter button etc. After about 20 seconds the camera turns on again when pushing some buttons.

Any ideas? Has anyone had the same problems with the A7r and could it be that the battery is causing these issues?

I've had a similar issue recently with my a7S, but didn't with my a7R. Mine was turning off and not responding to any input for around 3-5 seconds (never 20 seconds, I think I'd flip out if that happened) then randomly start working again. I found that with the a7S the power saving option was set to go active after 10 seconds of inactivity. I changed that setting to 2 minutes and haven't had an issue with it since, so that'd be the first thing I'd recommend you check.

Well maybe it was more about 10 seconds :P

Yeah i have that setting activated too, and now as you say it, yeah its like its in sleep mode but i am then having trouble waking it up...

But i somehow think the battery could affect this behavior as it happened not once with my other battery...
