I've have a $10 no name collar. Not very happy since the plastic vibrates and does not provide a solid support. Are the $50 Vello's on point with OEM or is it just a step up from the cheapies?

Lens is a 70-200 f4 if it matters.

Thanks for any info.

I have a Vello on my 70-200 F4 IS and the Canon on my 400mm F5.6.

I would go with the Vello every time. Quality is at least as good as the Canon and the threaded hole on the bottom of the foot is replaceable. My QR plates will not stay tight on the Canon.
