In Danbury's case, it was crushing costs. The workers comp insurance for the Titans skyrocketed last year with all the injuries. The Whalers before them had to pay to have a fire marshal on-site for every game due to a sprinkler system that did not meet code as well as 5 cops for security, even though they spent the entire game drinking coffee and chatting with each other. The interesting part is none of them are there for the college games this year...

I have run into my share of people like GWAC in various situations, but I guess if it wasn't for people like that, the first round of America's Got Talent would not be so entertaining! I am a bit OCD and research the hell out of something to make sure I am doing it right, so I am probably at the other extreme of that guy! LOL

Since this is a photo sharing thread, I guess I should show some of mine. These two are from a Danbury Titans game vs the Fighting Saints last season taken from the stands above the glass. The goal shot was the only goal the Saints got that game.

That first shot is great with the puck hitting the back of the net! ^^

Here's a couple recent ones from me at the Warrior Arena, the Boston Bruins new practice facility. My Son's High School team through the glass .

Thanks MikeDee and Ltdave! I could hardly believe my luck when I saw I captured the puck in the back of the net.

Nice shots MikeDee, I have to search for a good clean spot in the glass at the rinks we play at around here. One rink is really good, they only allow non marking pucks, but there are not many games played there.

I never used to shoot hi-continous but i do now, specifically so I can get a better chance of capturing the puck there...

Keep shooting and you'll surprised at how many you're able to capture there...

I always shoot continuous, that was the first time I actually got the puck in the back of the net. With 7 fps with the 80D and I forget how much lower the 60D was, I usually captured the puck in various stages of flight, just not that one up until then. My timing is getting a bit better each game, my biggest problem is having the focus point in the right spot to get focus on the right person. I have plenty of shots with the person in the background in great focus :)

I've been to three rinks this season that had actually cleaned their glass! Man has that been a pleasurable surprise. So to the crews at Burnsville, South St. Paul and St. Croix Valley, on behalf of the hockey shooters of Minnesota, I salute you.

my barn is used for junior hockey, beer league, high school and the semi-pro team that i shoot for...

they also do open skating and pick up hockey...

i cleaned up 3 sections of glass about a month ago and theyre still relatively MARK free but they still have scratches and could probably benefit from being polished...
