Magnolia Green Jumping Spider (lyssomanes viridis)

Hey everyone it has been a while since I posted any pics on here, as such equipment has changed over the years.
Anyway here is one I took today the Canon MP-E 65mm at 4X mag with a 12mm extension tube.
Flash set-up was a single Canon 270 EX II fired via the ST-E2, flash was not diffused. CC is welcomed.

Thanks Brian, they are not too bad, but when they are hunting they skit around pretty good, especially when they do the odd jump to the lens. It's tough trying to get focus at that critical moment.

The diagonal slant to the composition helps to give the pose a sense of dynamism (as if he is about to pounce on prey). I also love the green reflection on the eyes along with the translucent quality of his body. Altogether a wonderful capture and particularly impressive bearing in mind that no diffusion was used.

Thanks Alex, I was out watching these guys hunting today, I now have 4 running around, when they come into close social proximity, they give each other a kind of acknowledgment and move around each other at safe distances. saw one spinning a line of web and letting it drift in the breeze. Will try and catch some more of these guys next weekend, I have my flash bracket in pieces with the intent on modifying it to accommodate two flashes. Will post the results when complete. Also have my two sto-fen diffusers, so I definitely need to check them out and see how the light looks.

Thanks Ishrani, yeah they have a certain quality about them, as I posted above, I was just watching them today, observing their social patterns etc, originally there were 2 of them when I took these pics, noticed 4 today.
