just got a copy of "hacking digital cameras" (to bump my amazon order over 15bucks :P) and it says that you can mod EF lenses to fit compacts...

despite reading the book i am not enlightened....even using a lens adaptor on compact of choice (g3 for me), i don't see how'd they optically match up.

350D, kit lens, 50mm 1.8, 28-105 3.5-4.6. Yeah. Thats it. You people with long lists just make me feel inadequate.

I think you can not easily replace the lens of a PS by an EF lens, but a common practice in macro photography is to use an interchangeable lens reversed in front of the camera lens.
There are adapters available to accomplish the task.
I made my own adapter (see below) to use the 50mm lens of my Canon A1 (film SLR) in front of the Pro1 Zoom lens.

More about the reversed lenses in the thread HA HA ... Pro1 + Reversed Lens
Be sure to check at least pages 1 and 5.

Hi Moppie
I seldom visit the Small Compact Digitals forum. I followed the work of kallousa on his Pro1 and he said his work was inspired by megaweb’s work. Following the link you provided, I finally arrived to the megaweb web site. Thank you.

Both megaweb and kallousa shot astonishing macro pictures.
