My 1D MkII got dropped on the floor a little while ago. Now, as soon as it is turned on, it starts taking photos, and doesn't stop until you shut it off.

How bad am I off here? Any ideas?

Heya,

Well, since it's a non-supported camera, problems are pretty serious. Cost to repair this isn't worth it, as you can buy a new one for the same cost as repair, and/or even less probably.

That is, unless you have insurance that will cover it's worth.

Very best,

Discovered the 2nd shutter button had gotten damaged and stuck in. Switched it off.

It must have landed right on the button! That shouldn't cost too much to get fixed. If the camera isn't a crazy high shutter count I'd send it in for the fix and a cleaning.

My backup rig is my 1D3. A few years ago I slipped on ice and it flew up to about 7 feet and dropped to the street. It has a ding on one corner but I was lucky that it didn't break anything. Gotta love the build quality of a 1D.
