Had the sensor cleaned on the 5D and yet I still hadn’t taken any pics for a while.

It was a 40 degree day but with a cool front coming through. I took the gamble that the clouds and light would be good.
Threw the cameras into the ‘cruiser and went and spent a couple of hours on the highway and backroads down around Cowell.

Here are a few of my favourites.

Andrew, I too am in search of my former enthusiasm. For the past year or so, I've substituted buying new camera systems for getting out and shooting. I had a 6D-based system, with Zeiss ZE21, Canon 24-105L/IS, and 70-300L/IS, but early last year switched to a Sony a7R and a bunch of, initially, primes but then Zony zooms, but the camera turned out to be so clunky-feeling and technically challenged that I bought a Sony a99-based system and sold the a7R stuff. Then Samsung announced the NX1 and, having had an NX20 a few years ago, I bought that and the big premium S-series midzoom and a couple less-expensive lenses. I'm now accumulating premium Canon lenses* and odds-n-ends for a 5DSR. I have a couple foto trips in the planning stages--to The Palouse area of eastern Washington state this May/June...

...in October.

Maybe spending many-thou$and$ on new gear will get me going again.

I like your first pic but probably would have moved to the right to move the two cacti slightly to the left...they're sort of distracting to me. The third teases me--I'd really like to see more of that old building. The skies in numbers 2 and 3 are gorgeous.

Good luck on finding your 'mojo'.

The parallels between musician and photographer are remarkably similar . . . especially when it seems that your work is feeling a bit stale. Sometimes setting my guitar (or camera) aside is the best solution. In a week or three, you pick it back up and almost magically find a fresh approach.
It looks like your search for some renewed mojo isn’t too far off! Lovely captures!
Best wishes!

Nice shots. I especially like the smooth , subtle tonality in the first image where you shoot in diffuse light.
