Feedback on this picture...also does it look just like a floating head? (I know the pic is nothing special, but got a new lens I am messing with)

Nice shot. Maybe crop a bit more. Since there's not a favored side, you could probably do with a center crop.

Thanks for the feedback. I was worried as her head is so far in the water.

Cute photo. I don't think there's a problem with the composition. I would try bringing up the saturation and contrast a bit to give it some pop. It's a little flat looking.

No problem! I think what's giving it that vibe is the just the grey color of the water, actually. Maybe just boosting the whites would give it some extra pop :-).

First off, what lens did you get. I am interesting to see what you decided to get. And one thing that might have helped to get through the water a little bit was a polarizing filter. Since it is all bubbles for the most part, it would not have been great at it, but would have helped see through the water a little bit.
And I agree with the others, she is not just a floating head. If there was less context, then maybe it would appear that way, but she is clearly a young lady just relaxing in the pool. The focus on the eye is fantastic.
Whatever lens you used, definitely nailed the focus on the shot.

Definitely impacted her skin tones too much. She does look magenta and because of it, not really a positive change. Have you looked at it in B/W. Some people will say it is a crutch, but some shots just look better that way.

I don't know if I agree -- I think it is a positive change. I wouldn't have noticed the magenta, but that's an easy correction. I would agree that this may be a cool black and white. When there isn't a lot of color, or if color isn't contributing positively to the photo, sometimes black and white is the answer. That said, I think you just about nailed it.

Thanks again guys for the feedback, this all helps me learn to edit better! I will try black and white out. I will also try and mess with the white balance. I will say I like #2 better then the first as I pops more..I just have to get that white balance right.

Thanks!
