It is, but I would suspect they might open it early, unless they are just being cautious about a late snow. Last April I know the higher elevations got some snow, but right now I would think the roads are pretty empty.

Nope. Slept in a tent in the Upper Pines campground.

It's the Yosemite Falls webcam. It shows a medium amount of flow this morning, and the sun is shining. Here's Weather Underground's forecast today for the valley: http://www.wunderground.com …orecast/zmw:95389.1.99999 (external link) If they're right, the sun will shine all afternoon, too. So there should be snowmelt to feed all the falls except the highly seasonal ones (like Staircase) and a sunset to light up Horsetail. That's the best I can do from here.

It's hard to say. Unfortunately Yosemite Falls really means nothing to Horsetail. I've seen Yosemite Falls flowing hard and Horsetail during nothing during the melting time. Not to mention there isn't much snow in the high country to begin with, sadly.

Your main issue besides water might be cloud cover, if you plan on going up today. It's supposed to rain/snow in Yosemite, which means there are going to be a lot of clouds. If the sun can't get through, it won't matter if Horsetail is at a record peak flow.

If you have nothing to do today, I say sure, try it out, but if you can do other things, I would probably recommend that instead.

Thanks for the additional information,I know it's a crapshoot, was hoping that somebody was in the park and could see it. Yes the weather also plays an important role, but sometimes dumb luck is best of all. I saw the prediction for the rain to slow, But it shows it being early tomorrow morning around 4 AM.
