Well, I've finally had my first card failure... Doesn't work in the external card reader for my pc, the internal reader on mbp, or in any of my cameras.

Good thing it wasn't the card with the engagement shoot I did yesterday.

Unfortunately, it was the card with pictures and videos of my now 9 month old during the last 4-6 weeks of his development.

Arrrggghhhh!!!! /cries in the corner

Tried the solutions here?

What brand of card? What card reader and computer OS (mainly for everyone else's edification)?

I'm currently running photorec on it. Will report back when it's done.

The card brand is PNY, which kind of sucks since I just ordered 2 more PNY cards earlier today (before I realized this card had issues) since it was the Amazon deal of the day. I am using a Kingston card reader on Windows 7. Tried my Anker card reader as well. I also used the built in reader on my 2010 mbp running the latest version of OS X. I used this card in my s100 for snapshots and video of my son. But, does not work in the 5D3 either now.

photorec found 0 files. testdisk was unable to find/fix the drive partition.

Trying photorescue expert now...

Well, nothing has worked. I've tried around a dozen products. There is no partition. None of the partition recovery programs work either.

Wonder if I should just risk adding a new partition and then re-trying data recovery. i'll sleep on it first.
