Lee's Ferry is where many rafting parties put in to run the Grand Canyon. It's also where the Paria River joins the flow, bringing with it all the silt from its 34 mile run through Paria Canyon. You can see the silt-laden water trying to merge with the clean Colorado River, which has dropped all its silt a few miles back at the Glen Canyon Dam. The current pushes much of the silt ashore, where a nice sandy beach has formed. Notice the pink sandstone grains on the beach. This section of the river is called the Paria Riffle. It's not big enough to be called a rapids.
