I got a chance to photograph a two day CrossFit competition a few weekends ago. It's the first one I've shot and I'm not an avid CrossFitter so there was a lot to learn in a hurry! Lol.
I'm happy with what I got and I'm really looking forward to getting in there to shoot some more local CrossFit events.
The biggest challenge was dealing with the lighting in the gym. It was difficult to say the least (Gray walls, black ceiling, Black mats, Shooting into the windows, ect...). I missed some shots when I was going from the dark corners of the gym to the station right next to the windows or open garage door. Honestly, I'd of much rather had a consistently dark gym then having as many light and WB variables that I was faced against. It made batch processing the 4,200+ pictures all but impossible. But all in all, it was a great time, and the best part, the competitors & the host gym liked the photos.

Please feel free to offer any CC. Thanks for taking a look.

Great shots! I have always been nervous to shoot in the higher ISO ranges but these look great. Did you have to do a lot of noise reduction in post?

Thanks, Max.
Coming from a 70D, it took me a long time get comfortable shooting anything above ISO 2000.
I had to do a moderate amount of NR. The 1Dx handles the higher iso's so well that it really wasn't very much. :-)
