Okay, I'm not seeing it, but I know that you can set some function that will allow you to use the AF of the 580ex, but not fire the flash. Can someone tell me how to set it?

According to my 580EX manual, Custom Function 5 is Slave Unit Auto Power Off, and Custom Function 7 is Flash Recycling Method when an external power source is attached. Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here
