The Chainsaw Burger at Diamond Knot Craft Brewing in Seattle, WA. I was trying a different style of editing instead of just a clean one. CC welcome!

I had to look it up -

SPICY! Have an IPA ready! One beef patty, 1 chorizo patty & a spicy red hot link with grilled fresh jalapenos & red onions. Topped with habanero pepper jack and served atop lettuce, tomatoes & homemade pub sauce.

Wow - so how was it ,especially the chorizo? I like the composition of your image - the angle of the tiles to the plate - the background not so much - the food looks pretty tasty but I think something about the color temp is bothering me. Nice photo just the same and thanks for sharing.

Lupo-Lubo, it was pretty spicy. My boyfriend had actually ordered it and he's way more tolerant of spicy food than I am. I could only take a few bites at a time but he thought it was delicious.

As far as the picture, thanks for the comments! I was trying something different as far as the editing and I should've cleaned up the background a bit but my boyfriend was getting impatient waiting for me to take a picture haha

good looking burger.

and yeah i think the composition is almost there too, a little distracting on the background and that kale garnish, isn't doing it for me. I don't take pics of food in restaurants because once i get started i can't stop. Once when i was actually getting paid to take pictures of food in a restaurant, and had a room to myself, i went back to the kitchen and sorted through the strawberries to find one that wasn't so ripe and had then slice it up for me. The ripe one was so red it just looked like a blob on the plate. That was just one of the trips back to the kitchen i made. :D

next time forget to get napkins or something and send him back to the counter while you take the pic. :P

i think i like the processing, but it seems like there is both a yellow and blue cast? which is hard to do. maybe you played with saturation and vibrance too much?

I've been working on split toning with levels and like where it's heading, have you done any of that?

Lol, if I had been there by myself I probably would have taken all the time to properly set it up, but we were just there for a quick bite.

I was struggling with the white balance, but one way it looked to blue and another too yellow. So that's where it looked the best -? I didn't do any split toning just a clean edit with a curves adjustment to play with the contrast.

Were you trying to have a surrealistic, soft focus, filtered burger and fries?

I like the shot as art, capturing reality of sitting down for a diner burger in many ways. (the plastic water glass, the simple grocery mustard bottle) If it's a product shot, the focus should start in front, even when it's soft focus. In my opinion, not, in the back third.

But it's still about, what are you trying to convey? Style, art or product or something else?
