I am selling my 60D and from the looks of it, the buyer won't be needing this. It retails for $180 plus shipping. I'm selling it for $125 including USPS insured priority mail shipping to CONUS addresses and PayPal fees.

The use of an L bracket with the 60D does limit the movement of the tilt screen but I still liked being able to move easily from landscape to portrait on a tripod equiped with ball head using an Arca Swiss compatible quick release clamp.

I included this warning because you will want to think things through before purchase.

I looked at this because I have a 60D. I can't for the life of me figure out what it is for. What does one do with this thing?

If you shoot on a tripod and that tripod has a ball head with an Arca Swiss compatible quick release clamp, this L bracket lets you rotate your camera from landscape to portrait without it hanging off the side of your ball head. Here's a demonstration: http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/Video-Gallery.html#l-plates (external link)

Thanks for the link. Great idea. I don't use a tripod often enough to worry about that, but it is nice to know it exists.
