Thoughts?) ![]() ![]() ![]() great set...and I think that color or black and white fits...its all personal preference...sometimes the color is important to the image, like the ones you posted...sometimes color distracts. As pointed out above; to me the topic of this thread is about the story the image captures, I think often times color just isn't needed (or can even distract) for the subject matter. Color is often part of the story though. Arcade lights are the perfect example focalpointsphoto.com

MalVeauX "Looks rough and well used" More info Post edited over 4 years ago by MalVeauX. | Jun 30, 2019 15:57 | #1823 I don't think color vs monochrome matters. It's hard to put an easy all-grasping definition on it, but I find family photojournalism to be the every day real view of what's going on with a "family." Not vacation, or birthdays, or anything special. The every day. The real situation. The common everyone happenings. That's the part of life the family lives most of the time and there are hordes of boards based on all those special rare moments and posed moments, but this is the only thread that represents the common, mundane, every day occurrences of someone's family and honestly its one of my favorite threads because it is reality photography. We all have a different way of approaching this. That's just my own interpretation of it. Shane's (the thread starter) photos are exactly what I think of when I think of family photojournalism, even if they were in color. I look forward to posts like that! I take great inspiration from a few folk in this thread that capture those kinds of moments, the every day stuff, the common at home day with the family. I dig the messy houses, wild hair morning kids, pajamas, dirty dishes, junk laying around. That's real life. Image hosted by forum (985634) © MalVeauX [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. mystik610 Cream of the Crop More info | Jun 30, 2019 20:31 | #1824 I've been teaching my daughter photography...and by teaching her, I don't mean technique, but fostering a love for the craft. The other kids never cared for it, but she finds a genuine enjoyment in it so I gave her my old EOS M and encourage her to just shoot stuff. IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/2goduhDfocalpointsphoto.com

Jun 30, 2019 21:31 | #1825 Here are a few shots from this past Christmas. It was my first shot at taking family photos with a "real" camera (just a Canon SL2 with an old Sigma 30mm I got right before then) Image hosted by forum (985688) © MrBluto [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.
