Thanks! It wasnt my idea by any means. I stole it from Chuck Anerino. He had a family photojournalism blog that I cant find at the moment but will post when I do. It was most excellent. :)

Nope, sorry. I've done the marriage, had the kids & been through the divorce..... Mine are 9 & nearly 11 :) I just meant I'll find or start to take relevant shots for the thread :)

Oh, thats cool too! Its fun to try to layer or tell stories in the images. If you look at them for their content rather than their photographic qualities (this is why I shoot a lot of B&W) they become special quickly.

Not sure if you mean me or not. My name is Shane. If so, thank you so much!

Lee, are you kidding?! Those are AMAZING! I love the first one for its simplicity and the little bit of the tree, telling a story.

AnniemacD, Great image! I know I remember my many "tree cutting adventures" from when I was young. Great one! Im excited to see someone else from outside the US in here too!

Yes, Shane I mean you!! Jakahearts became Jake somehow. Oh well. Great images.

Lee, those images are also beautiful, they look like old Kodachromes! I have a ton of old Kodachromes from the 50's and 60's that my dad took (yes, baby pics of me included) and they have a rich warm color palette that is unmistakable.

I want to think long and hard before I post here. "photojournalism" is quite subjective. I don't want to just dump a bunch of family snaps in here. This said, I do have a good number of older shots I think would be appropriate. I'll certainly be shooting with this thread in mind in the future. For now, here is a contribution…

Mama/daughter time….

Here we go! Cory, this is a good read and I agree, I dont think this should be a dumping of family snapshots. With that said, I also dont think I should be the one to judge if someones image is photojournalism or not so.... Anyway, here is the blog I was referring to earlier. Chuck is, imho, one of the best in this field and he even goes into details about what makes some images better than others.

I do think color photos work with the "PJ" theme. I just wonder if they need to be processed a bit so they seem like they might have come from a print article somewhere, i.e. magazine.

Late night screen time…

IMHO, photojournalism is about stories and life. Color or black and white, doesnt matter as long as its a story.
