Well done. They are tough to shoot! I haven't had much luck with them, even at the local park where you'd think they would be use to seeing people.

They are definitely a tough target Iain and that's why I always say there's no such thing as a bad picture of a Pileated.
I love the way he's tucked to both the trunk and the intrusive limb. You got a nice capture of what he allowed you to see though and sometimes images at distance are still very pleasing. This is certainly one of those times!
