Right when I was about to order an m4/3, the same day actually, I came across Gary Fongs YouTube video on the a6000. For some reason I sat through most of it. Then I started researching more and more. I am blown away by the technology of these cameras. The a6000 appears to be exactly what I want for photographing my kids, travel, and everyday use. The a7 would be used for more serious photography, I'm just a hobbyist, but would enjoy a weather sealed FF. The price is right.

My only concern and the only reason I'm not selling my Canon is wildlife and bird photography. I keep reading the AF tracking and lens selection just isn't up to DSLR standards.

But I have no doubt that Sony is Putting their efforts into the future of photography. Which is why I really want to start investing into their system.

I don't think any mirror less system will offer a long zoom lens. You could try a e -> ef adapter and use your sigma lens but I think AF would suffer some and the adapter is spendy.

Olympus has the 100-300 200-600 eq on m4/3 and is rumored to have a 400 in the works. I'm just not sold on m4/3 for everything.

I just need to accept the fact I need two systems and so worrying.

Not sure what gives you that impression... there are already several very well rated long zoom lenses for the micro four thirds system. Fuji also has one coming this year that's rumored to be 400mm. With Sony you can also get an LA-EA4 adapter and use any of their A mount lenses on any of their E mount bodies and retain full features and in fact gain faster phase detection autofocus making them just as quick as a DSLR.

This is just my opinion.

I wanted a smaller kit and started with 4/3. I think that 4/3 is great. But when I tested an A6000 it was wow. I have it now and its been awesome. I think that 4/3 is ahead is some areas lens wise, but I have what I want for now. My shooting has changed since I no longer shoot PRO.

The A6000 is a joy to use. I am certainly sold on it. See the A6000 picture thread for more enticing input.

I was wanting to sell my Canon gear to fund whatever new system I get. But I think I'll keep it and start small with a new system. Basically use my 7D/Sigma combo for most wildlife and Sony or Olympus for everything else. I really like the Olympus lens lineup BUT I'm pretty confident Sony will be coming strong In that department.
