When I'm searching different catagories I click on the main Topic so I can see the first original image of the post but for what ever reason it takes me to the last posting at the end almost everytime . Does anyone know what is causing this ??

On multi-page threads where you've already read everything the more likely scenario is that you'll be wanting to add something to the thread. If it's a multi-page thread you always have the option of clicking on the "page 1" link following the thread title. If it's a single page, once you've entered the thread clicking in the left or right margin will bring you to the top of that page. Jon

Yes, exactly. You always have the option of clicking on "FIRST PAGE" or "LAST PAGE". "Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.

I see it either way. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery

The replies pertain mostly to discussion threads. And for my own usage I have to agree - in the case of image sharing threads, the design is bad. When viewing an image sharing thread for the second or greater time, more often than not I click the thread title because I want to see the original image being shared, not the end of 25 discussions about it. And that's where the system takes you. Again, JMHO, but a bad design in the use of image sharing threads.

There was no "link saying anything" because this is only a one page thread. It wouldn't make any sense if the site gave you the option of going to the first page or the last page when there is only the one page. Celestron wrote in post #17447200 .... so I click the Tile and it takes me to the last message in the topic . Are you sure about that? It is designed to take you to the first UNREAD POST in the thread, if you are following the thread. If you have followed up on the thread whenever replies are made, then the first unread post may happen to also be the last post in the thread, but whenever there are two or more unread posts, clicking on the thread title should take you to the first of these (provided you are following the post, and accessing the post via the purple NEW POSTS dropdown menu.) Celestron wrote in post #17447200 .... so I click the Tile and it takes me to the last message in the topic . But if it is a one page thread, what is the difference? When you click on the topic, the site takes you to that topic's page. What is the issue with whether it takes you to the top of the page or the bottom of the page? Would you actually complain about having to scroll up or down? This takes less than half a second, and is effortless. The pages here are (thankfully) short, with only 15 posts per page. So what if you have to scroll a few inches up or down? "Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.

If i have read anything in the post previous or maybe i see a post with multiple pages and maybe once i clicked the last person to just see what he says then i go back and click the Title to see something in th first post it automatically takes me to the last page and post . Tom Reichner wrote in post #17447309 Pekka even added a great feature (yes, it is great) that allows you to go back up to the top by simply clicking anywhere in the margins (either the left or right margin will work). So, if the site takes you to the bottom of a page, and you wanted to be at the top of the page, then all you need to do is to put the cursor anywhere in a margin and click.....presto! - you're now at the top. That's swell you can click in the margins to go up . You explained part of the reason in your first posting and i appreciate it . But why do you seem so upset when you may not have completely understood in my original post ? All i want to know is whether i have read all the topic or maybe just the very last post of a topic once before and there is a picture posted in the very first original post and If i go back to the catagory list and click the topic name because i want to see the pict(s) again it automatically takes me back to the end of the page reguardless if it's ONE page or One Hundred Pages ? You already answered anyway when you said in your first post that "that is the way it is designed to do" . Well this is the only forum on anywhere on the Internet that does that and that is why i was asking to start with "Why Does It Do That ?" . I may have read the topic and all post and there maybe 5 pages and it takes me to the last post of the topic on the last page , BUT..... sometimes i want to see the picts again in the first original post so i scroll top top , click on the link to the first page BUT it takes me back to the bottom last post of the last page of the topic .... , what then ? Thanks for your input .

There are numerous other forum software packages in addition to AMASS where clicking on the title takes you to the first unread post. At some point, you learned to use vBulletin software and adapted to it. You can choose to do the same with any other forum software. Atmospheric haze in images? What would solve mine and many others is when we click any Topic name and it would just take me directly to the first post on the first page , reguardless if i have read everything or not . The big question is: how many people REALLY would want thread title behave the way you describe? The Forum Boss, El General Moderator
