Okay, I'm sure this has come up and I've read and searched here and gotten some info, but some of the flash models have changed. Basically, I've got a T1i and a 7dmk2 and no external flash. This is not something I'm going to use a lot, but I do plan on using one. So I'm leaning towards a clone of a Speedlite, like a Yongnuo. I'm thinking of a YN-568EX II. So is that a good starting point or should I be considering the 600EX-RT? As far as I can tell the differences between them are more about communications between flashes, cameras and triggers, correct? Are there other clones I should consider?

And triggers, should I consider getting a trigger for off camera flash right away or rely on the 568 triggering based on the built in flash?

thanks for any help.

I personally have Canon brand flashes, but ive read Yongnuo brand is almost the exact same thing as Canon. Ill probably get the YN-568EX II's for my next flashes. Im not sure if the YN-568EX II has IR or wireless capabilities but i have 2 pairs of the the Yongnuo 622c's and they work perfectly.
