Headed to Vegas in a few days. My original plan was to bring my EOS-M with the 18-55 kit lens and the 22mm prime for it. Then I realized I wanted to visit Valley of Fire yet again as well as Death Valley. And then more recently I figured I could also swing through Mojave one morning as well. I mocked up my duffel bag with all my clothes and found I may be able to pack my 5D2 as well. Still plan on bringing the EOS-M but now also the 5D2, but with what lens? I have a 100-400 v1, or a 70-200v2 and a 1.4II TC.

I'm thinking there won't be much I'd need the 400mm for, and with the 2.8 the 70-200 may work better overall, especially for night type shots on the strip. (if the 22mm on the M doesn't get the shot I want) Kinda confused here. What started out so simple is now seeming like a major decision. Or do I just skip the 5D2 all together and stay small and light?

I'm going to spend a week in Vegas in June, can't wait! I am planning 3 photography day trips out to various places while I'm there. I have been to Valley of Fire and Red Rocks, they are great. But....if you go a little farther out, there are some really awesome areas to visit.

I plan on going to Valley of Fire and Red Rocks, but I'm also going to Antelope Canyon, Horshoe Bend, and Zion National Park.

One thing you might consider is adding a quality wide angle lens with filters(ND Grad Filter and Polarizer). I don't know much about the EOS-M, but the 5d II would be a must for me. If you need a quality wide angle, consider renting from Borrowlens or LensRentals.

Make sure you post some photos when you get back!
