Thank you Craig for sharing.

Does the quality of light differ between shooting 3/4 and full body? Obviously it's bigger than a stock 22" beauty dish which is only effective as a beauty dish when shooting headshots.... so I assume you still have that "beauty dish" effect even shooting at full length? correct?

by far my favorite modifier, if i could only have one the Setti would be it, I have a grid and the sock making it even more versatile 8-)

Thanks,

I emailed the Owner of Mola.

According to him, for head shots the suggested distance from your subject should be roughly 4 feet.

For 3/4 6 feet away.

Full body 8 to 10 feet away.

The farther the light source the harsher the light.

Those are just rough guidelines, you may prefer different distances.

Hopefully that answers your question.

Here's a link to a recent article I wrote for SLR Lounge
with a little more information about the Mola Setti.

okay...so even the Setti cannot retain it's "BD light effect" when shooting at full length.

Reason people are using combos with a BD.
