Ok guys i let the wife know bonus is coming TOMORROW.. so saturday I am planning on buying the 7dm2. While there I also plan to try and get a package deal for a 70-200 2.8 IS.

I remember a loooong time ago someone stated that there was a Tamron that was better than the canon mark i but just shy of tamron mark ii.

Which is that? is it the Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD ?

Also looking for weather sealed.

Yes... Tamron 70-200 2.8 VC is the model you want. The current model. I had one when they first came out and later sold it.... Literally on Monday I just ordered me another one. It's up there knocking at the Canon MK2 door.

If you hurry and buy now from cameraland you can get it for 1250 new authorized dealer.

Yep, that lens is awesome, I've had one for a few months now. The other Tamron is listed as a macro lens, and I'm quite sure that autofocus will be nowhere near as fast with that one.
