They're less appealing with it. My opinion. PRONOUN ADVISORY: OhLook is a she. | Comments welcome

The presentation makes things seem like a photosensitive color emulsion was coated onto a roughly textured vinyl and an image enlarged onto the resulting photosensitive surface...an unpleasant for me texture which I find distracting from the photographic subject being presented. Maybe if the intent was to put images onto a vinyl tablecloth in a blue collar Japanese eating establishment I might find it more acceptable in that context. An older PS filter called oil paint. Also saturation was dropped a bit from the original that I felt was over-saturated. Having shot many images for restaurant websites, I was getting tired of straight food pictures and wanted to experiment a little. Clearly the majority here felt it was not beneficial to use the filter.

Thanks Wilt. This particular sushi bar is part of a larger Asian restaurant. To save time and maybe money, they made the sushi ahead of time and froze it. When you ordered, they would thaw it in a microwave, pour the sauce on and serve. It was mostly dry and tasteless. The items pictured were two of a few items that I knew they had to make fresh but I no longer eat there.
