Took just this lens and a 70-200 f4 IS away for a week, very versatile combination. Dont yet know whether i prefer this over my 16-35 for travelling (where the zoom and the ultra wide is nice) but it certainly is a brilliant lens. Pretty much replaces a 35 for me

when I saw your second image the colors, contrast etc realy jumped out at me...And the Bokeh @ 2.2 is pleasing to eye and seperates the subject well.......That image quality im seeing is enough for me to now seriously consider looking at Sigma again after a long time of not being interested in them because of prior QC issues . I know it sounds a little over the top that I would base a strong purchase interest in one over 1 image, however I normally only really get interested in a lens's when I see an image that somehow jumps out at me.....And this one does.....Maybe its because its not in a scene where lighting has been carefully set in order to have the lens show its best side.....Whatever Its hard to explain but its good enough for me to start looking at this lens a little more seriously now.............

It's because he used a tripod :P

Seriously I've had the 35L/24LII and the 35A/24A are equal performers at a fraction of the price.

I can't wait for the 85 Art... I will own the 24/35/50/85 all art lenses. They are that good. But don't forget the 24 look is unique in it's own.

How does using a tripod have anything to do with it??... *confused*

Sorry, I haven't been around in a while! Anyway, thanks for the nice comments. It was a beautiful day with beautiful light and color. That makes a big difference, whatever lens you are using, of course.
I don't think you need to worry about Sigma QC issues. The old 50mm F1.4 was the troublesome one and gave a lot of people trouble. I had to send mine in a couple of times right after I bought it (as did many others). However, I had a Sig 24mm 1.8, and have the 24, 35, and 85mm and they have been perfect from the get-go, and that is the case with most everybody. Canon is far from immune. I bought a brand new Canon 135L that had a bubble in the front element!! The old 24-70 had lots of troubles, as does the 50mm F1.2.
In my opinion, the real question for most is whether they want 24mm. It's wider than a lot of folks like. Personally I love it, especially very wide:lol:
The Canon 24mm F1.4 is also excellent, but at about double the price, the Sigma was a no-brainer for me.
