Oh there was a couple people on page 14 stating its not as sharp as the 35 and 50 Arts- so it's tack sharp at 1.4? If so that's awesome!

That should not come as a surprise, because a 24/1.4 is much wider and much harder to correct than a 35/1.4 (let alone a 50/1.4).

Let's just say that the Sigma 24/1.4 is sharper than the Canon 24/1.4 v2, and has much less vignetting (but still very noticeable).
The only problem I have with this lens is AF speed and sometimes the precision, and that is on a 1Dx

Bottom line is: If you need 24mm at f/1.4 and don't require the best AF performance, then the Sigma is possibly the best fast 24 for Canon EF right now.
If you can live with 35mm, then go 35.

I will certainly sell the lens as soon as an alternative comes up with similar quality but much better AF performance (a Canon v3 ?).

Agreed. Love my 24 Art but it's been the most finicky of the art lenses that I've owned.

BUT... I'm 100% positive it's because I haven't calibrated it either. It acts like my 35 did before I calibrated the 35. After I calibrated the 35 it was my most accurate lens, never missed. So I just need to borrow my friends dock and calibrate it.

But ya... to my eyes it's just as sharp as the 35 and 50 and whats more amazing is the fact the 20 1.4 is even sharper than the 24.

Those finnicky focus issues go away when adapted to my Sony...:-D No, its not a 1Dx...but the images are always sharp unless there is operator error! f1.4 is super shallow on a 24...more than I remembered it being.

Sample showing flare from an in-frame light source. Not sure if it's filter or lens.

Yeap, I did. I'll remove it and test again next time - bought the lens used from someone else and just walked around with it not caring about the filter.

I asked, because the shot I put up a couple above, had no filter and no signs of flare under similar conditions shooting at the sun.

Yup. I really need to use mine more often but yes I love the 24mm 1.4 look you get. To me it's very 3D look. Subject will be all sharp/in focus and background has nice compression. 3D.
