Tamron 24-70 Gone BAD? Suddenly takes blurry/soft photos.

I bought a new Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 VC USD lens for my 6D about 10 months ago. The lens had lots of use and never really had issues.

I recently had a project when upon review of the images, I noticed a big issue in most of the photos. I also went to shoot another subject car tonight for test shots. I took photos with VC on/off, played around with focus settings etc, the result is the same. The camera will focus on the center of the subject but it seems to dramatically blur the right side of the frame, and no blur to the left and overall image is not sharp at all.

What should be happening is it should have an even blur on the background, with the entire subject in focus, but that's not what's happening.

Luckily, I do have a manufacture warranty. I can't be without this lens though, so would need to buy a new one.

Anyone have an idea what could be wrong with the lens?

yeah, you're going to have to send that in...you could rent a lens if you need one...although i'm not sure on what the turn around time is with tamron

Sometimes when I'm using auto focus, I noticed it would twitch in live view mode, which there's no reason that should be happening. Yeah something must of went wrong inside.

Anyone else know what the main issue could be?

also just realized I wont be covered under warranty, it was purchased from hong kong.

I've had a VC issue with my 24-70. Try turning it off to see if it takes sharp pictures. This lens is prone to "VC-Jump" where VC kicks in after the image is locked, and jumps the frame a little in a certain direction, which results in blurry photos. I've had it sent to Tamron.

if you dont have warranty, ask tamron for a price quote, prices pretty reasonable. You've got a badly decentered lens. Maybe an element got loose.

I remembered a repair alert on lens rentals about an element coming loose behind the front element. I think you could see it out of place if this was the case.
