I have 2 YN 560 Mark IVs. So far no QC problems with them, unless you count the Engrish in the users manual. Can someone please explain this feature and why a photographer would use it over the other modes? Thanks.

Multi is a stroboscopic effect. You set the number of flashes and the frequency, i.e., 10 flashes at 5 Hz. Leaving your shutter open for two seconds with a moving subject in the frame would give you an interesting effect.

The use of this mode is up to you.

Interesting. I don't know what stroboscopic effect is and flash power expressed in terms of Hz is new to me also. I understand the progression of stops but Hz is new.

Hz is cycles per second. The above example would make the 560 flash 10 times in two seconds, five times in one second (5 Hz) for two seconds for a total of ten flashes at the manual power you set.

"Multi" is handled by the 622Cs, but only to copy the Canon camera output. The concepts and settings are described in the EOS camera manuals.

I tried retiring, but gave it up - it's a dead end
