Well, my girl flat out refused to eat her cake but I think I made the best of it.

Ha! We saw the earmuffs in another thread but it is great to see some more. Very nice series!

Was someone holding her while sitting in the chair? Or did you just chance it and have her sit by herself for the last photo?

No, no one was holding her. My wife was just out of frame on camera left. Plus, shes my second kid so we dont care if she falls. ;)

hahaha thank you for your answer. We just had our first daughter 8 months ago so I know what you mean. I am shooting a pair of 1 year old twins in a couple days and I wanted one to be sitting on a box or chair to have them at different levels. I was wondering what the best way to sit them like this was. Your lighting is pretty spot on - very soft and beautiful. Was this with speedlite or studio lighting?

Thanks again for answering my questions. I appreciate it.

Thanks again! This is a combination of speedlights and studio light, actually. It could very easily be done with all speedlights because I had my einstein set at 1/16th power.

Here is my lighting setup only my main light was on camera left. They are a 1:4 ratio.

I am off to do my shoot today - thank you so much. I really like the catchlights you got - this set up will work great!
