And maybe it makes the setup lightly front-heavy, but not nearly enough to be a problem, IMO. I think it feels fine. David Arbogast wrote in post #17499861 Actually that sort of thing doesn't bother me as I love to use my way-heavy/large Otus on my a7R. You'll be fine then. Steve -- Website

You've got me all the more encouraged to get mine. ![]() How does the camera/lens combo feel to you? Does the lens seem heavy or large in proprtion to the camera? Actually that sort of thing doesn't bother me as I love to use my way-heavy/large Otus on my a7R. Thanks! I overlooked this shot initially, but looking at it again, I think this is the shot that has me sold on the lens from a technical standpoint. Really smooth out of focus areas, despite very complex background elements and lighting. Tack sharp in focus areas. Handles very contrasty light well...that's one area that the Sigma 35 ART really lacks (along with its nervous bokeh), as the Sigma has a tendency to blow-out highlights within the frame. focalpointsphoto.com

It's a perfect textbook example of how to leverage the wide(ish) angle for an environmental portrait. Love the composition and the smooth out of focus background. David | Flickr

Glad to read that you like it more than the Sigma - that lens may not be the most stellar in bokeh, but it is a special lens nonetheless. I liked my Sigma really well, except it gave mesome AF fits. Don't think we'll be having that problem with this one. ![]() The Sigma is a phenomenal lens, especially for the price, but it's harsh rendering and nervous bokeh have always irked me...which is why for serious portrait work, I usually reach for my Canon 24-70II in lieu of the Sigma....provided I don't need the larger apertures of course. Is the aperture ring reasonably stiff? One of my biggest complaints with the Fuji lenses is that the aperture lenses are way to easy accidentally knock out of position.
