I'm having trouble pre-triggering my 5d3 with my two PW plus iii. It works fine with my previous 6d. Is this common for those who have this set up?

For clarity, PW 3 has pre-triggering function in them (see their website for detail) that allows for wireless triggers using two pocketwizards. Half press will wake up the camera and focus it. Depressing it fully would then take the photo.

Any help would be great!

The best is that you contact PW on this and state which cable you are using. You can use the contact page on their site for this.

BTW I see you have stated that you have a 480 EXII and I assume this should be 580 EXII.

Thanks for the suggestion. I should do that! My set up is one PW3 on my camera hotshoe with a pre-trigger cable connecting the PW to shutter release port of the 5d3. The PW3 on the camera act as the receiver. I'm basically triggering it with my other PW3. No strobes involve right now. Used that setup with my 6d and it worked fine.
