That's funny! For some reason I thought OhLook was a guy until she corrected me one day.

LOL. Same here, Stina. Good thing she added a note to her sig! :)

Here's a little H shot I've been planning & playing with this week. I wanted to try to do a product type shot while experimenting with some things I've seen about lighting techniques recently. It's still not exactly what I wanted, but it's close enough for tonight.
Just a drop of Honey for the evening.

This is totally cool, Lisa. Well done! I agree with Jo about a surface. It would have been a stronger image if we had seen the surface on which the drop will fall to give it context. Now it's all kinda hanging in mid air. A reflection would already be enough, if alone from the drop, not even the bottle. Just thinking with you here to improve the shot, as I think you know that I love what you did here!

Thank you Levina. Yes, the ceremony is pretty ancient and I believe it does damage the enamel and is very painful according to some local young ladies. It's a different world out there; I'm glad I live where I live :)

Oh god, yes!

Hiya, Kevin! I remember the Happy art from the Nifty thread, yes? I still love them, even though we can only see the faces now. What a great "H"! Love the Hendrix pic also.

And Jo, I envy you with your Hawaiian H's!!! And I love the hat rack. :)

Ah, I'm getting a warning that only 4 images can be quoted and it's dropping the Herons. Hmmm...

D'oh! Now I realize what Joayne was trying to tell me! (head slap) Thanks for the tip and explanation. I totally get what you're saying here now (it's amazing what a new day and a cup of coffee do for insight). Thanks for the feedback. I will definitely keep that in mind next time. I may try to rig that up again (or something similar) and try another version later.

Jo, I know you'll have a blast in Hawaii. I'm itching to go back and try some time lapse stuff around the lava flows or even Kilauea's summit caldera which I think is still bubbling pretty good right now. Saw a link to a teaser (external link) the other day for an upcoming 4k video on Kilauea that also made me want to go back. Maybe one day...

I may be fascinated with volcanoes, but the name's Lisa.

Great macro, John. What is that a photo of? Did you set the lighting up for it, or was it natural? You have some really nice detail there. You always do such a good job with the macros!

Thanks lavanut, its a roma tomato plant and just used a 430EX II mounted on the camera ;)

Yeah, MQ limits image quoting, but I still like the new MQ function..
I notice some folks here replying one post at a time.. Are you having trouble with Multi-Quoting?
Some of us can help you :-D

And thanks, yes going back to Hawai'i after so many years away..

I lived in the town of Volcano and I was there when the eruptions started that again covered the lower Puna road and when Kilauea erupted after many years of being quiet and when Thurston Lava Tube partially collapsed. It was a really big earthquake at 3am and a second at 6am. With that we jumped in the card and drove to Kilauea to watch it bubble

..I was also reminded I'm headed for Hawai'i in a little over a week!

Nice, Joayne. I like the picture on the wall as well.

I really like the shot, but I see what Joayne and Levina are saying. If you try again, I'd love to see the results.
