I wasn't sure I'd like a small camera, but holy cow, the A6000 is a great camera.
Very refreshing after years and years with SLR's and DSLR's.
No more boat anchors for me. Goodbye Canon, hello Sony!

But for now I'm just using the Sony for my portraits and the Canon for my field sports. The last three for four basketball games I've covered, 90% of the shots are coming from the a6000. Name: Theron

Not sure if it would be the a6000 or maybe the a7ii. The main thing holding me back as well is the lenses and the fact that they don't have a 180 flip screen. I like to record video of my son while I'm holding him. 5D3 / M3 / S100 / Σ 35 Art / 50 1.8 / 135 L / 17-40 L / 24-70 L / 70-200 f/4 IS L / m 22 2.0 / 580ex II

I've been looking to upgrade my (quite long in the tooth) Canon 350d (rebelxt) for years now. I don't have much canon gear (a few lenses and a flash) but I thought I'd stick with Canon. But Canon's Rebel offerings have failed to impress me... notably lack of wifi. David C.

Very refreshing after years and years with SLR's and DSLR's. No more boat anchors for me. Goodbye Canon, hello Sony! I have the A6000 and I think it is a great little camera, at a great price, with some minor problems (no touch screen and a problematic liveview zoom aid, among others). I bought the Fotodiox EF to E adapter, which allows me to use all my Canon lenses. Unfortunately, the AF with my EF lenses feature is not really very good (with some lenses works like a charm, with others so, so). At the end I'm using it with a tripod and manual focus for landscape. Might be a good option to replace my 600D maybe, so long as I can use the Samyang lenses on it maybe? Does the A6000 have a time-lapse feature? The A6000 has better features than the 600D and, with an EF to E adapter, can be used with all your lenses, including the Samyang. I like to record video of my son while I'm holding him. Sony has a PlayMemories app for smart phones that basically turns your smartphone into camera live view screen via WiFi. I don't use it much but I could set up the camera on a kitchen table & control it from another room (no zoom though). tmalone893 wrote in post #17458713 I hear you! The last three for four basketball games I've covered, 90% of the shots are coming from the a6000. There's some choice - get a $250 or so LA-EA4 adapter and you can use Sony or Minolta A-mount (DSLR) f2.8 lenses, with full AF speed. They don't have as many as Canon, and none AFAIK are stabilized (Sony SLTs have IBIS) but they are nice lenses. napawino wrote in post #17459469 I sold my 6D and all the lenses I had. Don't miss them one bit. I have the Zeiss 16-70, the Sony 55-210 and the Sony 35mm 1.8 at the moment. The A6000 takes photos that without any post processing look really great. Seems I always had to adjust something with the 6D. The autofocus is superb on the A6000, and 11fps shutter speed. Oh yeah! I am curious, what kind of photos are you normally taking ? Ex-Canon shooter. Now Sony Nex.

Mar 08, 2015 11:24 | #14 It takes the most "fiddle free" pics I've had with any camera. 95% of what I have taken have been just fine with no post processing needed. But I'm not a professional. I take pics of everything. Landscapes, cityscapes, people, animals, junk objects and mechanical doodads.
