I sold my 5Dmk3 and compliment of glass. I now have the a7ii and a6000. i bought the 70-200G/4 and 24-70Z/4 and couldn't be happier. The a6000 is a gem for the cost. I took it to a swim meet and got more keepers than I would have w/ the 5Dmk3 and it was so light and fun to use. My days of big DSLR cameras are behind me and I look forward to my hiking trips w/ lighter more portable gear.

Joining this thread as I'm considering trying a Sony a6000 and/or a7II. Not sure I can ditch my 6D yet (I do love it for landscape work), but the size and weight sure seems interesting to me.
And I hear the DR on the Sonys is better than the 6D. So there's that.
Mickey (Nchant)...I know you shoot a 6D, so I'm curious how you feel about the 6000 when you get it. Keep us informed.

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

guy i work with has a 5dm3 and tons of lenses. he got the Sony A7 and now a A7r coming... he says everything is better and hasnt used his 5dm3 in 2 months. He has the adapter so he can use all of his lenses and he maybe switching. Myself - I was contemplating the Sony A77II but after my thread and someone chimed in that for me and the action sports I will be doing I should go 7dm2 (which I just did).... so who knows maybe in the future I will also have a sony but for now Ill wait...

oh yeah.. after ordering the 7dm2 first thing I ordered was a grip so I guess MOST of all in here are saying size / weight is the biggest reason but guess I dont mind so far.

Another thing I like about the A6000 is, as long as I dont have the 55-210 mounted on it, people tend to think I'm just taking snapshots with a point and shoot camera. When I used my 6D people were more aware of my camera.

I wasn't sure I'd like a small camera, but holy cow, the A6000 is a great camera.

Very refreshing after years and years with SLR's and DSLR's.

No more boat anchors for me. Goodbye Canon, hello Sony!

I firmly believe that is one thing Canon needs to pay a significant attention to as its going to be continues and frequent story soon, if not already.

55-210 is a very good lens in good light, unfortunately too slow for low light. Have you looked at 18-105/4 ? It's large-ish (about as long as 55210) but not heavy, and makes an excellent all-purpose lens for when ultimate portability is not the goal (still much smaller than a Rebel with 18-55)

My only use for a long lens is outdoors, in good light. So it fills my need. Thought about the 70-200 f4 but too spendy right away. Might get one down the road.

I really like the 16-70 Zeiss.

New A6000 owner here. I'm not saying goodbye to Canon but I do anticipate the DSLR staying home a lot more !

Me neither. In my bag I have the 7D and 5DMKII with the Tamron 28-75 and the Canon 70-200 f4L IS already mounted, plus the Sony A6000. Additionally I carry a Bower 14mm f2.8 and a Tokina 12-24 f4, plus the Fotodiox EF to E adapter. And, for sure I use them all.

Would anyone care to contribute with images this Sony makes?
For one, I am curious to see samples of what this widely apprised camera makes.

I have the Sony 50 1.8 for portrait work and the rokinon 12mm for landscape, works great for me so far.

Here are a couple. First with the Canon EF 70-200 f4L IS and the second with the Tokina 12-24 f4. Both lenses using the Fotodiox EF to E adapter.

Miguel: These are great. Only I personally hate it when somebody points it to me, but seem you have a dust particle on the sensor at 9:00 o'clock, but then you didn't heard it from me:)
I love the first 70-200 that has excellent IQ.
Not sure but a good chance that this Sony is going to make me say goodbye to EOS-M3... Well none has 4K but then there are a lot else to talk about.
Keep them coming.

Regarding the dust, I think is due to the lens insted of the sensor but thanks anyways.
I was also shooting with my EOS-M that day and while the M touch screen has some nice advantages over the A6000, the lack of a viewfinder makes it harder. Here is a sample with the EOS-M and the Tamron 28-75 f2.8.
