Long story short, I recently sold my EF 17-40mm due to lack of interior / architectural job last year.
But now I started to receive potential interior shoots & I kinda regret selling my 17-40mm.
Now I'm planning to get a new UWA lens to replace my lost 17-40mm, preferably something wider than / at least as wide as 17mm.
I initially wanted to buy the new EF 11-24mm. But the Australian MSRP here is full retard.
I inquired one local shop about trading, basically I have to trade one of my 5D3 + 70-200mm f/2.8 IS v1 + 24-105mm + a 600EX-RT to be able to trade with EF 11-24mm. **** THAT.
I still want to buy EF 11-24mm in the future, but at the moment I'm looking for alternative lenses.
Second choice is TS-E 17mm. Perspective control will help a lot reducing the time needed on post. Sure if I want to shoot wider I can shift & stitch. But I seldom use narrower focal (which is where 17-40mm was excel at).
Third choice is Sigma 12-24mm. Far cheaper than EF 11-24mm with variable aperture. But I really concern with the corner sharpness when stopped down.
Final choice is EF 16-35mm F/4 IS. Review says excellent corner sharpness, plus same filter size 77mm. I can re-use my 77mm CPL from my 17-40mm. But there are times I want to go wider than 17-16mm, which can only be done by stitching with this kind on lens.
The thing is, three out of four lenses above does not accept conventional filter. If I ended up getting one of those three, I have to invest on the UWA filter system like Wonderpana.
Any suggestion on what should I get?
