I know this topic has been kicked around several times a year. I've searched with a wide variety of results, but none of which answered my question.

I'm hoping to find someone who has sent their local Canon center their body and a lens for calibration. Even better, someone who has gotten their equipment inspected/cleaned at the same time. I was told via Canon's chat to submit a repair ticket for my body and a repair ticket for my lens, with a note in each repair ticket to calibrate the lens to the body. I was able to squeeze a rough base price out of the person, it looks like if all conditions are otherwise perfect...the base starts around $400.

I was crossing my fingers that it would be in the $200 range, so starting out double my hopes......it was a shocker. Anyone gotten the calibration of a body and lens, and/or the inspection/cleaning of both while there? And if so, don't mind telling me what you paid? Its something I know I NEED, I can't quite get it dialed in myself.....and its always fair to get my equipment cleaned considering the environments I typically shoot it.

FWIW, I have a 1Dmkiv and a 100-400L.

Thanks. :-)

Several people had their 7d2 and supers calibrated, but I don't think there was a charge involved. $400 sounds like the number I have heard for what you are asking for.

Where are you struggling on the calibration?

Instead of using a chat room have you done the procedure at https://www.usa.canon.com …yCode=onlineRepairLanding (external link)? I would separately input info for the camera and lens and see what the total comes to. I know an 18 point maintenance of non-Rebels is about $130.

I tried it with my mkiii and couldn't get it right, ultimately was the previous lens version I owned. I guess since this is a different body AND lens, I could give it a shot again. It's a mental struggle, but considering what I was dealing with prior.....it should be understandable. :-D

That is actually what the service rep recommended in the chat room, to submit the inspection/repair for the body and lens separate. In addition to the cost ($129 + $59), and assuming there were no repairs needed......the lens/camera calibration brought the ballpark to $400 total. I just thought that was a little much, but thats based off of my assumption.

Thanks for the replies so far. 8-)

I guess the real question to ask is what people have experienced (cost wise) of getting a single lens and body calibrated by Canon?
