After looking on line for a new strap that wasn't a neckstrap (although I loved my POTN Optec straps), I found the Matin Neoprene Fast Access Sling Strap. I already own the Black Rapid RWS Strap for women with the awesome connector. I wanted a new strap for my 7DII I bought last week, leaving the Black Rapid on my SL1.

Matin Strap

Pros:

1. The padding on the Matin strap is truly comfortable. Thick and grippy. I don't know why people complain about the underarm strap because it works great and is not hard to put on. Just need to adjust the length before putting it on.
2. Adjustment clips are easy to use, fasten and release.
3. Quality is good. Materials are good and sturdy.
4. Connector for the camera to strap is solid. Not worried it will disconnect even with my 7DII with 70-200 2.8 IS II.
5. Looks very professional, not overkill.

Cons:

1. Unfortunately, the little round fastener to the camera, where a tripod connects, is not as "beefy" as the Black Rapid connector by a long shot! Fastener can hold the weight I need, but I don't think I can rely on it as well as my trusty Black Rapid Fastener. I will put up images of the two fasteners so you can see the difference.

Conclusions: I think I will use the new Matin for my next wedding and follow up. Since both straps are shoulder straps, I can't wear them together, but will do some shooting with my 7DII and some with my SL1 and can make a good review of the two while working. For now, I think I will love my new Matin. For $56 on Amazon, it's not too expensive, but very comfy.

My children and grandchildren are the reason, but it's the passion that drives me to get the perfect image of everything.
