Man, those rock formations in the BG look very tempting for some photo exploration! I need to visit here one day in my life.

Thanks! I think it's definitely worth visiting this part of China. There are some very unique mountains, caves and rock formations that lend themselves well to landscape photography. Many parts of the region are packed with tourists though, so it's best if you can find a local who can take you to some more remote, but equally spectacular areas.

I agree Guilin is absolutely stunning, this scene looks like the Li river.

Wonderful shot, conveys the real "feel" of Guilin.

Thanks Barry! That is indeed the Li River. I sat there for ages waiting for a lull in river traffic. When the moment finally came the boat positioned itself perfectly.

Actually this shot is from a trip a little while ago. Found it unprocessed in the archives, shockingly. I recently sold the 1DsII, but that was because I moved from Toronto to Hong Kong and didn't need to bring both the 1DsII and my 5D. Otherwise I'd happily continue using it today!
